Exaxes
Technical Information: The Exaxes is a light scout vehicle, with flight capabilities. It is usually crewed by two people, one is a pilot, while the other runs to sensor information and weapons systems. It's legs are bent "ostrich" like, so that it is more stable in rougher terrains. The large feet not only provide better stablitiy, but house several rockets, enabling the Exaxes to fly. In case of damage to the legs, or main engine, the cockpit and sensor wing can jettison, leaving the legs behind.
The only weaponery consists of a dual gun system on the Left wing. The gun can rotate 360 degrees on it's Y-Axis, and about 120 degrees on it's X-Axis.
Construction Information: This is a pretty complex kit, hampered by some unclear instructions. The tricky part is getting the "kneecap" of the legs set correctly. The pictures in the instructions are vauge at this point. The middle piece that hold the front of the cockpit together is also a bit small, but you can fill with with some microclear. The gun system goes together pretty lousy, I had to glue it so that it has no motion along the X-Axis. The pictures are a bit dark (which I am working on), but weathering the mech adds a lot to the over all effect. I recommend taking the time to paint the inside of the craft, as you can see inside it through all of the "glass". The finished product is pretty cool.
